| Safety is a way of life at Connelly Electric. Under the professional leadership of Safety Director Steve Becker, our company has expanded its emphasis on programs, training and services that emphasize a commitment to comprehensive safety standards. Mr. Becker, whose qualifications include a master's degree in enviornmental science and 18 years of hands-on experience in construction and facilities management, has made it his goal to change the behavior of employees and keep safety awareness at the forefront of our company. “Every day is a new day for me because we never know what safety needs will arise,” Mr. Becker said. “My job is to give everyone the tools to put safety first on the priority list.” From our top leadership to every member of our field team, Mr. Becker makes sure they have ready access to comprehensive safety education. His safety programs even include behavior management to help company drivers control their emotions behind the wheel and make smarter driving decisions. And because some projects involve clients remaining on-site during construction, Mr. Becker also includes training for them. “It's really about making safety a true aspect of every project, not an afterthought,” he said. “It's understanding where and how it applies.” As an OSHA construction outreach trainer for OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety programs, Mr. Becker can ensure we keep pace with strict government standards. All Connelly Electric foremen now are required to complete the OSHA training. Each new employee also receives mandatory training and safety meetings are held at each project location. Safety is a core value at Connelly Electric because we emphasize pre-planning for safety on every job, at every level. Our management teams are held accountable for safety performance, and the responsibility for accident prevention is shared at every level of our organization. We believe everyone plays a vital role in correcting unsafe procedures, practices and conditions. Safety has a direct impact on the prosperity of Connelly Electric and our ability to secure new work.
