Connelly Electric partnered with Peak Construction in the Design/Build construction of the new corporate headquarters of Sunstar Americas, Inc. Sunstar Americas manufactures and markets innovative oral care products under the GUM®, Butler®, and Guidor® brands, in Schaumburg, Illinois. The new facility occupies approximately 300,000 square feet and more than 40 acres of land along the I90 corridor.
Connelly Electric provided Design/Build services, utilizing BIM coordination and Pre Fab technology for the corporate offices, manufacturing facility, and research & design center. The new facility will enable the company to not only expand their oral health product offerings but also enter additional market segments. The three-story building features a 350 foot-long gallery overlook running north and south between the offices and factory floor. The gallery's ‘lantern’ on the south is a visible beacon for motorists westbound on the tollway. Other features of the design include an atrium dining hall, fitness room, 200-seat auditorium, research and development center, specialized manufacturing, clean rooms, and an automated packaging/distribution operation.
